IELTS General Training Writing Task 1: Language

In writing task 1 of the General Training IELTS, you either write a letter in which you request information, or you write a letter in which you make a complaint.

Lexical Resource

In order to get a good band score in IELTS Writing Task 1, you must use a wide variety of good quality language in your letter. 25% of your final band score comes from “lexical resource”, or the range of vocabulary, that you use in your letter.

I’ve put together this slideshow which shows you the kind of language you can use to help you get a better band score. When you practice writing IELTS writing task 1, use this language!
